Flying ?

This might be a dumb question...

I am flying out to Texas on Thursday and I want to take my pillow with me. Can you carry-on a pillow?

Re: Flying ?

  • Im pretty sure you can. I swear I've seen it before. It could depend on your airline though and what their restrictions are.

  • We're flying Southwest. It says you can have one carry-on and one personal item like a purse, etc. But I think I might just squeeze my pillow into my carry-on.

Either that or you can stuff your purse into your pillow case. I think if the pillow is out it will count as a third item but SWA tends to be more lenient I think. Have a good trip!
  • We try to ONLY fly Southwest, but that is another story.  Anyway, I have never seen them put up a stink about someone having a pillow.

The reason they limit your number of carry-on items is due to space in the overhead compartments.  Hence - 1 carry-on item, which would go in the overhead compartment. And 1 personal item, which will go under the seat in front of you.

A pillow will not take up room in the overhead compartment, otherwise it was silly for that person to bring one!

This is my first time flying Southwest. I've only ever heard good things about them.
