When I got home last night I had a nice surprise - a box from Bed, Bath & Beyond with an anniversary gift from my mom's cousin (a bowl for our china setting). My mom told me that she is also sending a china place setting to us as an anniversary gift. I think it's a little weird that people send gifts for our anniversary, but I'll take it!
Of course I also got DH a present, tickets to a Broadway show he keeps saying he wants to see.
Anyone else get gifts from family members? If you already exchanged gifts with DH, what did you get each other?

Re: Anniversary Gifts
No gifts from family members. That's awesome that you got those gifts though!
DH and I exchanged two weeks early. I got him tickets to a Philadelphia Union soccer game and I also booked us a night at the downtown Marriott for the same night. It should be a great weekend getaway! DH bought me tickets to see "Joseph" at a local theatre. I was in "Josheph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" musical in high school...although this isn't the same show...it was still really thoughtful on his part.
Thats really very nice of them!
DH is getting me stationary for my business so that I can give brides folders of information so they don't have to rely on my website and I am getting him a fancy new coffee maker and he has requested a magazine subscription....so I may kick that in too

I know my mom sent us a gift but I have no idea what it is yet. Other than that I doubt we'll get anything from family.
I got DH a waffle maker and an ice cream maker. He's been wanting a waffle maker for a solid 6 months, and when I went to buy it I couldn't resist the ice cream maker, too! He's constantly wanting ice cream and I know he will have so much fun with it. It came w/ an ice cream cookbook so I am giving him that to represent "paper." I WANT TO GIVE IT NOW!
That totally reminded me I NEED to stick the canister to make the ice cream in the freezer ASAP because it takes 24 hours too be the right temp and I don't want to be craving fresh ice cream and not be able to make it! Mmmmm I see cookies and cream in our future.
This for us also! Our week in Savannah is our anniversary present for both of us. I secretly long for an "anniversary band" ring, and H knows that I covet one, but I'm pretty sure that's gonna be a gift for an anniversary when we don't travel and have to board our babies for 9 days!
My parents gave us money....as did DH's parents. My MIL also saved her flowers from the wedding, dried them and put them in a little jar for us with some rocks and stuff....it's really cool and was so thoughtful of her....especially since that gift was a year in the making lol.
DH and I didn't exchange gifts, our trip was our gift to each other

DH knows that I covet a second band. I actually want a matching one for the one I have now to go on top and a single chunky wedding band that I can wear solo. My now wedding band is curved to fit around my E-ring. I sorta like the wedding band Rachael Ray has...the black diamond one. All in due time!
wow...I was just reading back what I wrote and that doesn't make me sound greedy at all, does it??? (Sarcasm).
I don't think we are exchanging gifts. We decided to just do something fun together and that would be our gift to each other.
I don't really expect/anticipate gifts from family either. My sister mentioned something about getting us (read: me) a gift, so who knows. We will see a lot of our extended families on our anniversary, so who knows what will happen.
Wow! Anniversary gifts huh?? That's pretty cool!
DH and I are going on vacation in May and that's our anniversary trip/much-needed vacation. My birthday is in 8 days, but I told him no gifts (really!). There is nothing I need or want, so I'd rather use our spending money for our trip! My MIL gave us $50 to use for dinner on our anniversary, so that was sweet!
I got DH concert tickets and a hotel reservation for the concert.
He got me a camera
And of course cause he is an impatient man took me to buy it and handed me the bag and said Happy Anniversary! Haha oh well at least now I'll have it when were in Ocean City next weekend for our anniversary

How nice of your family to get your gifts!
I am surprising DH with a couples massage when we get to the beach!! I'm so excited because it is kinda for me too, but DH loves massages so he will be very happy. I too secretly long for an anniversary band, but we didn't do a wedding band so my engagement ring doubles as both. So I would really like to have a ring set.
Not at all!! I know for me, although I have a set and I probably could break it up and just wear the "bands", I'd rather not have the bands getting more wear and tear than the ring. Eventually I think they will look older than the ring when I do wear the set together. Also, I tend to hit my e-ring on stuff a lot, since it sits higher than the bands...
So I'd love to have an anniversary band (with or without diamonds, although I am kind of feeling the black diamond look!) that can be worn as a stand alone, and I can save my original wedding set for special occasions, or just to switch up...but like you said - all in good time :-)
MIL bought our new mattress for us, since we get free dinner at the place we got married. She was going to pay for us to go somewhere super nice otherwise.
DH and I decided no gifts this year, which is fine with me!
On the topic of anniversary bands I would like one sometime with with little diamonds along the top of the finger, contoured with my ering and band. Maybe our 5 year for something extra special!
