Anyone been to Tea at the St. Paul Hotel?

Re: Anyone been to Tea at the St. Paul Hotel?

  • my mom took me and my sisters a couple of times, usually for the ones at Christmas time. I loved it, it was nice relaxing visit and the food was delicious. I can't speak for price, because my mom always paid. One year we did the Christmas Carol tea and one of Charles Dicken's great grandsons (I think that's the relationship anyways) did the reading and it was so much fun.

  • It really is lovely!  That is, when you don't have ME as your waiter.  I was in HR there and the catering manager was *DESPERATE*.... my HR coworker and I made a misery out of it.

But if you don't get me (plunked a strawberry in someone's tea and it splashed all over, dropped food on another woman's dry clean only pants) then it's definitely a great experience.  In 1999 it wasn't horrible, I think like $25/person for 7 courses of great mini-foods!

I want to take my MIL some day as she's the total southern belle girly girl and would LOVE IT!

  • I have never been there but it sounds like a lot of fun.
