What would J'09 be surprised to learn about you?

I'm sure we've done something similar before, but people change, new things happen.  So dish...what would your fellow J'09ers be surprised to learn about you?

  • I am the least motivated, laziest person I know. I start projects (buy materials, maybe even begin assembly) and never finish them. I never even finished compiling my 101 in 1001. Guess how well that's going! I don't work out with any regularity (as in, maybe 3 times a month, maybe!). It drives DH crazy, and I say I'll do better, but I sit like a bump on a log day in, day out.  As much as I want kidlets, I'm terrified of having them because I will then have to do stuff--regularly--and have even less time to tend to my busy procrastinating schedule.

  • When I was graduating from college, I won an online sweepstakes from the Gap and won $10,000.  I entered online on the website and found out about a month later I was the grand prize winner.  I won $5000 to a custom furniture company and $5000 in cash from the Gap.  I used the furniture prize for two custom built ins in our new house and the cash went to pay the taxes and for living expenses until I got my first job.

Wow, that is awesome! You never really think people win those!

I didn't think so either.  I've entered so many since, but I may never be as lucky again!

  • Ohhh, that's so fun Steph! I always wonder if anyone really wins those prizes, and you are my proof.

Hmm, something interesting about me. My ancestor signed the declaration of independence. That's kind of interesting. My teeth are also featured in a textbook (my dentist wrote a textbook and asked to use them as a sample of a nice smile). That's all I've got for now.

  • I am obsessed/addicted to lip gloss. I'll try to take a pic today so you can see how many I have. I don't know what it is but I love it.

    Steph-that's awesome you won.

Leigha-I am a procrastinator and having kids actually helps you to procrastinate more. Clean the house-can't I have to play/take care of the baby. Exercise-nope have to watch the baby. Sure you can do all that stuff when the baby naps but really that time is for napping/relaxing, watching DVR shows or being on FB or TN : ) I'm just saying...

  • I love to cook and entertain.  I don't do anything fancy but I do the classics really well.  Because my mom and grandma are the same way and both have worked in food service for years, I can also cook for large groups. I am especially known for making desserts.

I also think about going to law school probably once a week.  I have wanted to be an attorney for as long as I can remember and I'm still not sure why I haven't done it.  I would definitely geek out in a business law class.

  • I've already mentioned the whole Wheel of Fortune contestant thing, yeah?

Here's a weird quirk: I teach public speaking. I perform in community theatre. I'm pretty much one of the most extroverted people I know. But I hate, hate, HATE (bordering on phobia) calling to order food over the phone. If we're ordering take-out, I'll use online ordering and give my DH's phone # in case they have to call with questions. If they don't have online ordering, I'll make DH call or make him pick a different restaurant. I have no clue where this came from, or why I can't seem to get over it.

    Go ahead. Judge away. Embarrassed

Not judging at all - I have serious phone-phobia as well. My mother used to make me call and order pizza because she thought I was being ridiculous. I would write out every detail (including my own name, address and everything about our order) on an index card so I wouldn't have to think about any of it.

Surprising detail - The church I go to is extremely conservative. My grandparents have been members since the 70's and my family went when I was really little, I've just found my way back there I guess. Honestly, it even surprises me at times but I really enjoy the traditional service that I was accustomed to as a child.

  • That's awesome Steph! I love reading these about everyone.

Love the gloss collection, mine is quite extensive as well :)

Something I think people would be surprised about me: I love rap music and booty shake. Love it. I love it from every era too-from NWA and 2-Pac and Biggie and Dre and Splack Pack to Lil Wayne, Twista, Mims, Eminem, Nas etc.. I love jamming with the windows down and a lot of bass. This only happens about once every 2 months now on the rare occasion I'm alone, since I have the kids in the car all the time. But I keep a cd in my vehicle with my favorite rap, it's usually dirty too. lol-I'm so rebellious!
