So Five Guys Burgers and Fries just opened up in Portland. This is going to be absolutely awful for my diet. Their burgers are as good as I've been hearing and they give you enough (yummy!) fries to send you into cardiac arrest. Now, where did I put my willpower...?
Re: Five Guys
What? What! OMG! I pink puffy heart Five Guys. I used to eat at one of the originals back in the day when I lived/worked near Alexandria, VA. I sense a dinner out very, very soon...
Seth and I were so confused when we saw all the hype on FB. I've never heard of it...figured it was a pizza joint.
Is it a nationwide chain??
There were a few locations in the DC area for years and it was a very popular place for burgers and fries. A few years ago they turned it into a franchise and it's nationwide now.

Their menu is pretty much just burgers and fries. It's not health food for sure, but it is tasty. Their food is all made fresh and the fries are cooked in peanut oil.
A note for those who've never been: A small serving of fries is enough to feed a family of 4. A "little" hamburger/cheeseburger has one patty of beef; the regular size has 2 patties.

I had no clue they were coming until it was announced all over FB on Monday. DH and I finally ate at one in FL a few weeks ago and it was awesome!
Funny story: When I got home from work on Mon. DH and I were discussing other important life decisions and when our conversation got quiet I casually mentioned that people on FB were saying one opened in the OP, we were excited, then got back to serious stuff. The next morning we were getting ready for work and DH said I would never guess what his dream was about... it was about five guys. Yup, it was aparently that exciting that it outweighed big life stuff in dreamland. I suggested we go there this weekend to celebrate our friend's birthday.
