Pumping outside of the office

So I'm at the Falmouth Fire Station giving exams. And I have to pump at least twice while I'm here.

The only place I can find to pump is the bathroom stall. So not looking forward to that. I could go in my car but I'm not sure where I could drive to that would keep me hidden.

Pumping. Ugh.

  • Good times.  You should wear a fire hat while pumping, you know, just to keep it interesting.

That is stressful to find a place to pump.  I have done my car with a nursing cover on which worked okay.  A bathroom is not ideal, but works...a bathroom stall sounds miserable though!

  • I'm so afraid I'm going to be pumping away and someone is going to think I am doing something weird in there! Luckily there are only a few women around. I wish I had my nursing cover...which is in the diaper bag...at school.

    Now...to find a fireman's hat...

Holy Crap. The visual on this just made my day! I now have this mental image of you peering out of a bathroom stall, clad in a fireman's hat with the pump chuggin' away. Ha!

That really blows that you are relegated to a cramped stall to pump- at least it's not a long term situation!

You should definitely do this! ;)

We are just up the road in Yarmouth and have super comfy chairs in the lunch room. But you might have to endure my boss coming in to use the Keurig, so that's actually probably not any better.

    hahahahahahahahahaha

I am an idiot.  Until I read this post, I never thought about a pump being battery-powered.  Sure enough, there's a battery pack in my pump that I've never noticed before...it was still in the plastic bubble wrap.  Yep, I'm on my second kid.  Yep, I need to pay more attention.

  • Could you drive down to Town Landing and park at one of the end spots on the ocean (away from other cars) and pump?  Hopefully you have a hooter hider or blanket in the car, otherwise you might make it into the Police Beat section of the Forecaster   :o/.  Pumping SUCKS!

  • I had to pump a few times in the Freeport Library parking lot crouched in the backseat with a nursing cover over me.  A few times people pulled in next to me.  It was not convenient outside the office at all!
  • UGH is right! I am at a professional conference right now.  Even though I can pump in my room (hooray for privacy) there isn't enough down time for me to pump and make it to the next session on time.  I usually work from home so I'm not used to pumping all the time and it's just not as effective. I don't know how you mamas who pump at work every day do it.
