So, things have been fairly normal.
There have been some minor things I've had to step up and pull the "in charge" card for...I don't know if they're normal issues and I just don't see it since I'm never looking for it, or if they're issues because "the boss" is gone...mostly with people coming in late/leaving early and/or cutting sessions short or not requiring students to sign in.
However, this week is draaaaaaaaaaaaaging. My boss didn't leave me nearly enough to do (hence the Nesting time). Normally I'd suggest projects to her to get feedback before diving in to something new, but since that's not an option, I kinda feel like my hands are tied a little bit. I don't want to devote tons of time to something new to have it get rejected come Monday, but I also don't want to just sit here twiddling my thumbs (I do have one project I'm working on, but at the rate I'm going, it'll be done by this afternoon...)
I do get to do some cool boss-like things this week, which included being part of an interview for a new faculty candidate this morning, but that was all of about 30 minutes...
So, basically, thanks for letting me freak out yesterday, but it seems like it will be a normal, uneventful (and dare I say possibly boring...) week around here. If anything interesting/exciting happens, I'll let you know!
Re: Work Update
I'm glad to hear it is going well. As for not having enough work - what if you made a list of things you want to talk to her about so when she comes back she'll see you were doing something...even if it was just "thinking up" ideas. ?
Interviews are fun to sit in on.
Sounds like you have everything under control and would rock at this position!!
