What's your favorite thing about spring?

I don't feel like you appreciate these types of things in FL, maybe because they are there year round, but I LOVING all the birds everywhere chirrping.  It makes me super happy.  And the trees blossuming? Delish.

Re: What's your favorite thing about spring?

  • I love it when I take the dog out and I have that moment of "Oh my gosh... I'm outside? And I'm not cold? When did this happen?"
  • Sunshine!

    Baseball!

the smell of people's smokers (and grills)!

    Flip flops!

  • Walking without a jacket on (corny, I know)

Seeing all of the spring crocuses and flowering trees blooming

Pulling out all my warm weather dresses

The spring sunshine and the smell of the soil after a quick rain... I grew up on one of the last wooded lots in Boston and that smell takes me back to being a kid!

  • Lilacs.  The season lasts about 10 minutes, but I love the smell of them.

Jeans and t shirt weather - it's my absolute favorite weather.

Pulling on my flip flops for the first time.

The first day we hit 70 - people are just so happy that day, it's like a giant cloud has lifted off everyone, and there's just a collective good mood everywhere you go. Especially after a crappy winter like this one.

  • I love the warm weather!
  • grilling
walking everywhere instead of relying on the T/bus
    flowers
reading and/or drinking beers on my front porch

    Smile

  • Putting away my winter boots

Opening the windows in the house

Watching for buds on the trees and flowers poking out of the ground

    Baseball season

  • Not the rain, that's for sure.  It's been a bad commuting week so far.

I love noticing all the things starting to bloom and--cheesy as it sounds--all the life that's coming back into the world around us.

The warmer weather and longer days.

    Not needing a coat anymore.

It's funny you should say this because I felt the same way when I lived in CA.  I grew up around here and noticed when living in S.F. that without the seasons time really seemed to just fly by.  I wasn't expecting to miss the seasons but I really did, and you really do appreciate the little things more after going through a deep freeze! Like the no coat thing. I have friends who were originally from CT visiting with us a couple of summers ago.  They've lived in S.F. for years now and while here one of them commented how she'd forgotten how nice it is not to need a coat on summer nights.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

  • Yes the longer days!  I forgot about that.  When I was in Hawaii it was so weird to me that the sun set every day at 6:30.  I am used to it being light til 8pm when the weather is that warm.  It kind of threw me off.
  • No more snow!

    Grilling

    Car shows!

  • The smell of a warm rain and fresh cut grass.

Being able to wear open toed shoes.

  • The feel of the sun when my skin is finally exposed and not covered by sweaters

Leaving for work when it is light out and returning home to a few more hours of sunshine.

the smell of mud (I know it sounds weird, but it means that things are thawing out!)

  • being able to air out the house... i feel like the air is so stale in the winter.

and fresh produce... oh how i've missed it!
