Tragedy in Newburgh

Did you guys see the news this morning about the mother who drove her van into the Hudson with 3 of her kids in the car killing all of them? I broke into tears this morning watching it on the news.

My heart goes out to the family and the 10 year old son who ran to the firehouse to try to save them.

I can't even imagine and that poor boy. He will most likely have so much emotional turmoil to overcome I pray he has a strong family to help him through this.

This is horrifying. I was in tears reading it. Those poor kids and that 10 year old, poor little guy. Ugh. Breaks my heart.

It was the lead story on the Today Show this AM when I was feeding DD.

How heartbreaking for all....that poor boy, those poor children....

this is so, so sad, it has broken my heart, the woman was only 25 so she is around my age, I also have children around her children's age. I cannot even imagine what was going through her mind when she did this, such a shame

It makes my stomach churn to read about it. I don't understand what makes someone think something like this is an acceptable option. Kill yourself if you're unhappy but not your kids.

Later reports said the kid was in the car, escaped through a window, swam in the hudson and to a dock. He is truly a trooper and blessed. This is such a terrible tragedy. I hope this kid makes it through life ok, I think that would seriously screw up even the most stable person with the best family support.

I just saw that. Unbelievable. This story makes me cry every time I see it.
