Cleaning baby toys and how to store them
DS is starting to hold and explore his toys with his mouth. He has a few sets of plastic keys, winkels, sophie the giraffe, etc. I usually just them by hand in hot soapy water, or wipe clean with hot soapy water if I can't immerse ( like sophie). But now I just have piles of toys I move from one clean blanket to another. Do you guys use a plastic tub or container that you've washed to put the toys in? I know kids build their immunity by putting things in their mouths, but I want to try to keep those plastic/rubber -in-the-mouth toys kind of clean.
What about stuffed toys with rattles in them? can I just put them in a pillowcase and throw them in the wash (even though they say surface wash only)?

Plastic and rubber toys go on the top shelf of the dishwasher. If you dont have a dishwasher, put them in a zippered lingerie bag and throw them in the washer.
99% of stuffed toys get thrown in the washer too.
Again, I put them in a zippered lingerie bag. Throw them in the dryer or line dry.
I bought a $5.00 large round bin with handles for all the toys, and just throw everything in there at the end of the day.
In daycare programs they usually throw all the hard toys in the dish washer, they even sell a bag you can put them all in that goes right inside the dishwasher on the top rack.
Many soft toys can just go in the washing machine on the gentle cycle, and then air dry or tumble dry on low.
I wash surface clean only toys in a lingere bag on gentle cycle with hot water. Even his stuffed animals with rattles came out just fine.
