anyone's kiddo have eczema?
Last week daycare called me to tell me that Aubrey had some welts on her inner thigh (outside of the diaper area though).. they hadn't been there when I dropped her off so they came on sort of quickly. There were three spots that were dime to nickel size, raised round welts. Within a day or two, they sort of scabbed over and then are clearing away now. Well Monday night, I noticed another spot, this time on her rear end but closer to the top than the actual diaper area.. She scratched it to the point of bleeding yesterday and daycare was concerned that maybe she had ring worm. I took her to the pedi this morning and she thinks its eczema (she ruled out ring worm or a yeast infection).. I'm confused though because most things I've read online say kids don't really get eczema in the diaper area.. She does have some other dry patches on her arms and legs but they have never been red or raised.. Do you think her new spots really could be eczema? If so, what do you do to treat it? The pedi said hydracortizone cream but that seems a little harsh for that area of her body..
