Shop for me? Sneakers

We all know I have a crap hip...and we all know by now that I need good shoes to walk properly (I am sure I have complained enough that I don't need to whine anymore about it)...

My problem...I don't have cute sneakers.

I am looking for "trendy" sneakers that I can wear for extended outings, like going to the aquarium/zoo/etc.  I feel so "eh" like my great jeans and cute shirts are diminished when I wear my gawdy running shoes with them.

I don't know what to look for...I just know I cannot do flat sneakers (converse, skaterish shoes, etc).  I need something with some internal moulding to them.

Ideas?  Post pictures or links PLEASE, I need the visuals to know what to look for since I am so out of the loop on cute shoes as I tend to wear ugly shoes in favor of the ability to walk.

Re: Shop for me? Sneakers

  • I saw a pair the other day and thougt of you.  I'll try and remember the site...
  • I got some recently at Target that I think are pretty cute but are still good to walk in. They're TrimStep Spher. Not sure if they have them still since they had them on clearance. Here's a photo:

  • I have the Privo Kulins in black and white and I wear them pretty much every single day - for work and play.  They're by Clarks, so they have good support.  Privo in general has a lot of cute styles though.

    These are the Kulins

These are the Privo bingles (come in a bunch of different colors)

Actually here's a whole blog article about the goodness of Privo.

I love Privos too, good for bad feet like mine.

  • I have 2 pairs of Privos that I can't wear because the heel gives me blisters every time, which is a bummer because they're cute and *should* be really comfy. Anyone know if the heels are better now? Mine are a couple of years old so the company could have improved them since then.

I just bought 2 pairs of everyday casual shoes from Zappos and am in love with them both:

Salomon Jody (also comes in mesh, style is called Desire:

And these just make me super happy every time I look at them. I'm planning to buy another pair in the gray/blues combo. Simple Take On Elastic:

Both have removable insoles so you can replace with your own Superfeet/orthotics if you want.

  • I cannot wear privos of any kind, they give me horrible blisters, no matter what and my feet are too wide for them +socks.  Which sucks since I love the look of some of them.

I am totally digging those elastic ones zoe!!!

I am also loving the puma soleil in the lavender and grey!!! Must go try on immediately.

Ok, I have some really good ideas now, thank you to everyone who responded (and please feel free to keep them coming) I think I have a direction now!!!!

I might be buying 2-3 pairs because I am loving some of these too much.

Just so you know, the Simples are available in toddler sizes too! Obviously the white/pinks combo won't work for EJ, but the gray/blues one might and there's also a black/white one They start at size 10. I'm seriously considering getting a pair for Kyva, and another pair for myself to put away until she can wear a 10 since the pair I have now will be long since worn out by then.

  • I recently got my sister these Jambu Himalayas as a gift.  Pricey but cute.  I haven't worn them but they look pretty comfy/sensible yet stylish (more stylish IRL I think).  There are several other colors on Zappos.

I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball
