Some t's a p's if you please
I dont know if shared on here but today my mom is having surgery. She was diagnosed with Stage 1 breast cancer, and is choosing to take the extreme route, and have a double mastectomy with reconstruction.DH and I are waiting in the hospital...she's so strong. I know she'll get through everything just fine, it's just scary....So if you wouldn't mind tackin on another prayer or some positive thoughts I would be super grateful. Thanks for reading...

Oh Mal, I'm so sorry. Many thoughts and prayers to your mom and your family, and a super speedy recovery.
My bff's mom just did the same exact thing as your mom, I was so impressed with her strength and will. It's been 3 months since her surgery and she is doing very well. I know your mom will be fabulous. Lots of love. xoxoxo

You have my sincerest thoughts and prayers.
As a long time oncology nurse I can tell you she made a very smart decision. Anything ever happens to me or any loved ones I'd suggest the same route she chose. I've had this discussion with colleagues and doctors and they say the same, double mastectomy without hesitation. What a strong woman.
Warm thoughts for a speedy recovery.
Surgery went fine, they took both breasts and prepared her for reconstruction...she will have 4 or 5 small procedures over the next 9 months before they put in the permanent implants. She's feeling good, but sore. She's staying with my aunt for the week and then we will be upstate for a few days for easter...
Thanks for asking, Melanie!
