Hi,
I recently had an unexpected pregnancy that sadly ended @ 9 weeks. We decided that, even though we were very excited for the pregnancy, we are not ready to try again.
I had the Mirena placed on Thursday and I am still having some discomfort. My question is if you have the Mirena how long after did you find it to be uncomfortable? If it was at all.
**Please excuse me if this is not the forum to use for this question. I have been on the pregnancy loss board and wasn't sure where to ask.
TIA
ETA: I have not had children.
Re: Question about Mirena
I had a Mirena in for 3 years. Just took it out in March!
When I first got it, it took about a week for the discomfort to go away. But it wasn't any kind of pain. If yours is, you should see the doctor. Hope all is well!
PS: So sorry about your loss
I'm sorry for your loss.
When I had my Mirena put in, I had random pains for a week or two after. They weren't constant, but when I had them, I was in agony. Before I got it inserted, I would get bad cramps with my period and I've never been pregnant, so I think that this was normal. Within a few weeks the pain subsided completely (except for a few pangs when my time of the month comes around.)
I hope that it has stopped hurting for you by now.
My wife got one after our second child was born. I don't remember her ever saying anything about any pains, but she got motion sickness very easily. She never had a problem with it before she got it. It got to a point that she had to drive everywhere we went or she got sick! When she had it removed, the motion sickness went away.
Hope this helps.
