Chemical Pregnancy

Went to a dating u/s today and found out that there was never a baby.  If anyone has any advice/pros and cons of a d&c that would be great.  The midwife said it was up to me and I had a 50% chance of having an emergency d&c if we tried letting it happen naturally.

Please don't post anything on fb we haven't had the chance to tell everyone yet.

  • I am so sorry.  I chose with our first to try naturally.  I was 10.5 weeks when the miscarriage was discovered.  I miscarried for a full 6 weeks with complications and ended up still having to have a d&c.  I know everybody is different but I wish after the first week that I would have just had the d&c as the emotions with it dragging on were really hard.  Good luck in whatever decision you make.  Prayers are with you.

  • I'm sorry.  Were you given an option of Cytotec?  It basically gets the process started and *can* speed things up.  I would have expected them to give you this option.  I *think* it's common to offer with anembyonic pregnancies, but I could be wrong.  GL with whatever you decide.

  • I'm so sorry.

I did a D&C. It was simple and quick-not a procedure anyone enjoys but it was the easiest part of the loss. I m/c at 10 weeks and it was suggested by my OB so I just took his advice.

  • I'm sorry.  T&P with you...
  • So sorry. :(

I've went through the same thing and my doctor recommended letting everything happen naturally, well after two months of horrible pain and bleeding I had to have a D&C. I would recommend D&C it was not near as bad as the terrible cramps and bleeding for two months straight.

Good luck on what you decide, once again so sorry. :(

  • Thoughts and Prayers your way!!

  • I am so sorry to hear this.  I don't have experience, but a friend of mine said that she was in pain until her D & C and then felt (physically) a lot better.  Thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

  • I'm sorry.  I can tell you my sister too had the same thing and choose to wait.  After a few weeks, she called me at work crying bc she was bleeding so bad she would literally drip after changing five minutes previously.  She called the Dr and we had to race to the ER in the middle of the blizzard and by the time we made it she was leaking all over.  Obviously this kind of thing doesn't happen to everyone and I'm not saying it to scare you, but if I was dealing with this type of thing, I would would want to be informed.  Luckily she worked from home so it wasn't as big of an issue as it would be if she were working in an office setting.  Good luck whatever you decide and sending nestie vibes for you for next time:)
