gift for a future teacher
I have a a few friends who are graduating this semester with a degree in Education. They will be student teaching in the fall. I'd like to get them a gift for graduation that is teaching related. I am thinking about donig a gift basket of some sort with a few items in it.
If you are a teacher, when you graduated, what is something that you needed/wanted for your classroom?
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Re: gift for a future teacher
Gift cards! Office Depot, Mardel, Target, or any store you where you can purchase school/office supply items.
As a high school teacher, I don't have much use for the cutesy stuff. But I do love monogrammed items, so maybe a monogrammed mug, notepads, water bottle, lunchbox, etc.
I'm always running low on pencils, pens, and markers, so some packs of those might be nice. (Somehow they just "disappear" off of my desk.)
I kind of like the lunchbox idea. I have a great Hawaiian Punch metal lunch box I use from time to time.
I honestly wouldn't have any need for all the office supplies, because our school actually supplies that kind of stuff (amazing, I know. They even take requests at the beginning of the year).
An electric pencil sharpener, a fan to have near their desk, gift cards to stores for work clothes, or a gift card to a nice restaurant (so they can have a break) would all be something that I would appreciate, as they are either longer lasting or different than the norm.
All of these suggestions plus a heavy duty pencil sharpener.
