Okay so here is my kitchen:

massive, I know ![]()
Keep in mind that back wall of tile is now totally gone (yay!!!). It's been drywalled and primed. BUT, I want to paint before our granite counters go in. Here is our granite:

So keeping in mind the dark cabinets, stainless and black appliances, granite color... what should I paint that wall? The newly painted wall will include where the tile was as well as that hideous yellow. So it continues through.
AND, because of the open layout, that color will really butt up to our informal living room. Which has a color of this:

See how it goes down into that room? Yellow wall is still along the left side, behind LJ (I wasn't thinking when I took this pic, was more thinking about the hardware I need to change out!). So I need it to all 'make sense' together.
So anyway, that was lengthy
Any suggestions for the tile/yellow wall area? I totally suck at design.
Re: I need help picking a wallcolor (PIPs)
This is a better photo of how that yellow wall goes almost down into the sunken living room. That's the wall in question

First, LJ is adorable.
Second, look through the paint bio.

I really like the "Academy Gray" by Valspar
We used a color from Sherwin Williams -- a light gray with 'ice' or 'icy' in its title. We had the same color of wood cabinets as you and stainless appliances. Although the hue is light and kinda dull
, I thought it made the granite stand out. Do you think you'll keep the framed art on the wall? I try to refrain from using warm/rich colors (sage, mauve/burgundy), mostly because we have those types of colors in our living rooms. I like when kitchens look bright and clean, and I would say that may be going with a lighter color. Maybe think of what you want to highlight in the kitchen (woods, counter, your cool table!) and select a color that won't blend too much with the highlighted item.
Hopefully you can make sense of my decor blabbery -- ha. I'm tired!
