I am admittedly rock music illiterate. At special request from my spin class members, they're wanting more rock. (I typically do pop, hip-hop and a little alternative). I'm happy to do some rock, but I seriously have NO clue any good bands or songs.
Someone mentioned AC/DC. Any specific songs you might recommend by them?
Help!
TIA!!!
Re: Help w/ Rock Music
Linkin Park in general (they have some slow songs so avoid those), and the Linkin Park/Jay Z mashup called Collision Course is AWESOME for working out (it's only 6 songs though). Not sure if they have a clean version though.
Tom Petty American Girl is good too.
Guns and Roses -Welcome to the Jungle
Metro Station-Shake it
OK Go - Here it Goes again (they're pretty good all around-Upbeat)
Paramore
Presidents of the United States of America
Red Hot Chili Peppers - Give it Away is a good one, but they have a lot.
Bon Jovi- Living on a Prayer, You Give Love a Bad Name, Runaway, Keep the Faith,Have a Nice Day, It's my Life
Def Lepard- Pour Some Sugar On Me
Journey: World's Apart, Don't Stop Believing, Wheels in the Sky
Aerosmith: Walk This Way, Love in and Elevator, Just Push Play. Eat the Rich, Falling In Love
If want more current bands....
Green Day: American Idiot, Holiday, Welcome to Paradise, King for a Day
Goo Goo Dolls: Long Way Down, Broadway, Sweetest Lie
Foo Fighters: Pretender, The Best of You, Next Year
AC/DC - Highway to Hell, Hells Bells
Foo Fighters - DOA, Monkey Wrench, Pretender
Smashing Pumpkins

When i workout I want angry music. So I listen to bitter music from bands that are more mainstream and melodic (metal and hardcore music just are not as rythmic as necessary to time your movements to)...like Chevelle (Specifically The Red and I Get it, Safewaters), Alice in Chains, Rage Against the Machine, Saliva (Click Click Boom), Rob Zombie, Slipknot...
Others that I like depending upon my mood and what I am doing: Beastie Boys, Chemical Brothers (specifically the Galvanize CD), The Clash, The Killers, AC/DC (thunderstruck, hells bells, You Shook Me All Night Long, High Voltage).
Again, I am an odd duck, I like my music to be bitter because I like to seeth when I workout but I still need the beat to pound my steps to so it limits what I can listen to.
Money Matters The other half's blog.

Elton John Saturday Night's Alright
I second Bon Jovi, especially You give love a bad name.
Guns n Roses, Welcome to the Jungle, Sweet Child o mine
The Who Bargain (one of my favorite all time songs)
Pretenders, Middle of the Road
Wow, I could go on and one, I think I just did! Good luck.
