A close family member just admitted to stealing my financial aid check that was $1,400. This happened a few years back when I was in school. When this happened, I was so worried and concerned b/c I needed it to buy things for school and pay down some of my student loans. She blamed it on someone else at the time and lied to my face about it. I traced the check to her bank, she deposited the check into her account and wrote checks off of it. What hurt me the most is that she stole from me, its not about the money, its about the principal, your suppose to be someone I trust and know and love and you felt the need to steal from me? I forgave but I cannot forget

That is just awful! You seem like a very strong woman and I am amazed by your ability to rise above this. I have a hard time forgiving people and I admire you for that.

do you have any recourse with the loan company? you can prove that you never received it and that it was never deposited into your account - you should not have to pay back the interest or principal on that!

thank you soooo much ladies!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I have lost sleep over this and it is sooo hard but I have to be strong in the end!!!!!! its just so rotten that this person thought that they were entitled to my financial aid refund check, its like, it had my name on it, it is not yours, and you took it out of the mail box and never told me it came in and you drove to your bamk and put it in your account and wrote checks off of it? wow!!!!! what hurts the most is how close she is to me!!!! I am embrassed that she did this to me, dont get me wrong, I am moving on but our relationship is not going to be the same, I can no longer trust!! and to think that this person was able to rest her head at night knowing that she did such a rotten thing blows my mind.

I can't say it better than anyone else did. I'm sorry, but you are a great and strong person. I don't know that I could say the same if it were myself in that situation.
