I know there have been some posts on here about rising oil prices. So I thought I'd mention that if anyone is interested in joining the oil co-op my parents and I are members of, I'm happy to give you information. The membership fee is $25 per year, and supports the administrative costs of the Co-op negotiating the deals with local vendors and also doing research so they not only tell you when it's a good deal, but also tell you what's going on with the oil market. So you know you're making an educated decision on choosing to buy or not to buy...
Last year, I paid only $2.699/gallon for my oil and this year I paid only $3.39/gallon. It usually involves a pre-buy deal, but it was totally worth it for us.
Let me know if you're interested and I can send you a link...

Re: PSA: Oil Co-op
I second the co-op recommendation. We belong to Mass Energy, which does the same for us, and also helps low-income families get affordable energy. It also allowed us to partially receive bio-fuel years before Mass passed the low requiring it. Our bill is high this year, but it's high "to us", if you know what I mean...it's still lower than the average local oil bill.
Send an email to me using wdcote at gmail dot com and I'll forward you the Coop's introductory information email that describes what they do, how they work, etc...
I know that prices have already gone up again...
