Homeless guy found dead on my street

While I was getting ready for work I heard a fire truck and police car go down my street, but didn't see where it stopped. When I left for work I saw them at the end of the road with it's lights and sirens off. The cops and firefighters were standing around and I could see a body next to a dumpster at the little corner market. The area wasn't roped off, there was no ambulance, nothing, just them standing waiting. I didn't have a good feeling about it, so I kept checking our neighborhood blog and it was just reported.
Re: Homeless guy found dead on my street
I wonder why they didn't have the area roped off and the body uncovered? How sad.
I wondered the same thing, so I did some detective work of my own. Online 911 records show the call was placed at 7:14 as a medic assist, I leave the house at 7:20, so I'm assuming the cop and one firetruck showed up and realized he was dead.
DH left about 8 and he said at that point there was no fire truck, but 6 cops and the coroners van and that the body had been covered. Records show the body was turned over to the coronor at 8:20 am to notify next of kin.
I really hope they covered him up shortly after I left. It's just off main road near some bigger bus stops. I hope none of the kids walking to school had to see it.
