I know we discussed this last week but I finally watched it last week. These people are hoarders. I guess I don't get buying something just because you have a coupon and it is something you really don't need. That one couple being in the grocery store for 5 hours and having to call friends, I'm sorry but that is a little too much for me. The twins seemed like major hoarders to me and buying stuff just because they had a coupon.
From what they were saying they think the world is going to come to an end one day and there will be nothing to buy and so they have to stock up. I know they got some stuff for free, but why do you need over a 1000 tubes of toothpaste?
I guess it made me a little sick knowing there are so many shelters and places around here that could use that stuff and you know those people are not going to use all that stuff. At least the last guy was buying stuff for care packages, but he still is a hoarder.
I am amazed at their coupon skills and I need to use coupons more, but it just made me a little sick watching this show and knowing that they most likely will never use that stuff and how people in shelters, Ronald McDonald houses, senior citizens, etc could totally use that stuff and they are basically just hoarding it (at least that is what it seems to me).
I am going to try to coupon but it is just the 2 of us so sometimes clipping coupons is not all worth it (you have to buy so many to save and it would expire before we would eat it), but I am going to try at least.
Off my little soapbox. I don't know if I can handle watching it again.
Re: Finally watched Extreme couponers
I completely agree, they should be donating most of the products they get (and will never use). When one of the twins said she has a stockpile of diapers...and doesnt have any babies, I gasped. Seriously, thats just insane.
I use coupons now, but I buy things we use.
I didn't see last night's episode yet, but I totally agree! I love the thrill of getting a deal and being organized, but hoarding makes my pulse race. Seriously...most of that stuff will go to waste before they can use it!
I saw a deal on a blog I read to get Herbal Essence shampoo for 30 cents each. I got excited until I saw that you had to get 12 bottles and use coupons to get that price. I would never use 12 bottles in a year! However, I realized I could have bought them and donated them to the girl scouts this weekend.
I just have to say I havent seen the show but I read alot of coupon blogs and it has been all the talk recently.
One of the blogs that I read had a post that linked to this article - http://jillcataldo.com/node/16258
It talks about Jaime committing coupon fraud.
If it is true, that pisses me off. I use coupons but most of the ones that I get are not for items that I would use. I would have never thought that the computer wouldnt know if I bought something in the same "family" of products and my coupon would work. Not that I would ever do that anyways!
I hope this show doesn't ruin couponing for the rest of us.
And I must stay that if she is committing coupon fraud, then she is a dumba$$ for doing it on national television and she deserves to be caught.

That is what I am worried about too because I noticed that stores around here don't do doubling coupons as often anymore and are checking them more and I think they will do more of that now because of this show.
I am all for coupons, but they take it to the extreme and all I think about is places that could use that stuff and it is just sitting in their house and most will never be used.
Mel I think someone on ML posted about that the other day. I had no idea it was like that or that you could do that.
I know she has to be completely stupid to do that on T.V.
We started watching it last night and well something else came up....wink wink.
He donates A LOT of the stuff he gets too. I havent seen any other couponer on the show donating.
