I dont know if you guys remember, but I inherited my aunts 9yo JRT when she passed away in November. Admittedly, I have been ignoring his behavioral problems, but DH is about to blow.
I think, to an extent, DH needs to suck it up because he's not that bad, he's just not trained, and therefore, gets into things, goes to the bathroom in the house, doesnt come when called, etc., etc. The biggest issue to me is the fact that he can be somewhat dog aggressive.
Now that DH is home from the season, it's starting to become an issue. I feel badly for him because he had absolutely NO choice in getting this dog. Hopefully we can find a trainer who can teach Jake some basic stuff to make him more manageable.
Does Two still post here? I think I remember her talking about her dog trainer.
Also, at this point, cost isnt really a factor, but how much should we expect to spend? Do trainers charge hourly?
Re: I Need a Dog Trainer, Stat. (Two?)
To contact Two quickly - you could Pm her or page her on the LGBT family page...
I know there is a guy locally (Delmar) area John O'Hannlon that a bunch of people at the dog park recommened- if you look up adult education at RCS high school - he teaches the dog obidence- you can get his contact info that way
or in Delmar there is a Pet Center on Deleware Ave and there is a woman who runs a doggie daycare in the back end of the store- she either does dog trainning or has a class held there- (for the number call infomation- and ask for the pet center on deleware ave delmar- then when the guy answers the phone tell him you want the doggie day care)
wish I had the contact info for you handy- but that's what I got
