She has a CaringBridge site...if anyone would be intested in reading it I will PM you with the address.
Anyways today is her last day of double dose chemo treatment. They have given her some medicine that has kept the nausea away. Thank goodness! Her white blood cell count is going down which is good because it means the chemo is working.
Her attitude and strength throughout this whole process is amazing she is constantly joking and continues to have a smile on her face. I know she will have many rough days, weeks, and months ahead of her. She told us the other night when we visited before she started chemo that she was ok with whatever happened. She wanted to stick around and see her kids get married but if not then she knew she would look down on them on them everyday. It was all mom and I could do not to let the tears show.
Please remember her in your prayers.
Re: Update on my friend with Acute Leukemia
I just teared up reading that, it hits close to home for me.
She sounds like an amazing person! I will continue to pray for her.
Oh, God Bless her. T&P for all of you and all of her family.
You know, not the same, but sort of is... My 91 yr old Aunt was diagnosed with a 5cm abdominal aneursym(sp) in her aorta and was given no time whatsoever to live. This was in 2006. She continued to be happy, live each day to the fullest and not give up. Last year in February, it was 11-12 cm (imagine your cervix dilates to 10 for birth) and she is still going. I fully believe that it has been her attitude that has kept her healthy this long. I think that your friends positive attitude toward life and her recovery is going to help her as much as if not more than all the drs and medication they give her. Prayers to her and a speedy recovery.
