Update on my mom

I just heard from my sister that's with mom, and she said that the Dr's are really pleased with the outcome, and mom is looking really good. Her pain is currently at a level 2, and shouldn't really be any more than that. She'll have to wear a sling on her left arm for the next week, but that's about all she'll have to deal with.  Yes  YesYes

I'm glad that mom was able to get this done so quickly. Now that something is making her heart beat enough, her quality of life should increase a good bit. Before, the poor thing barely had enough energy to drag herself to work and back home to bed.

  • Good to hear!

Yeah, my mom had to wear a sling for a little while and had to refrain from raising her arms over her head for several weeks (6 maybe?). She said the hardest part was having someone else wash her hair. She said that now she sweats occasionally after not sweating for years. She also said that she can tell when it kicks in because it makes her hiccup, lol.

lol! I'm sure the next couple of months are going to suck a bit, but after years of being exhausted from having low blood flow/super slow heart, we're hoping this will allow her to function at the level of a regular 65 year old, instead of a 90 year old.

  • yay, so glad to hear she's doing well!!
  • My old coworker had one when she was young (college-aged) and in her late 30's she needed her battery replaced. She was night and day - from slow, pale, & tired to suddenly an entirely new person. She was just brighter from the inside out!

I'm sure your mom wil llove her new life!
