Since most people are cleaning off the grill and starting to enjoy the warmer weather, i decided to share some lowfat and low cal burgers!

Barbeque Bleu Turkey Burger

makes 4-6 patties

This deliciously moist burger does not require any additional condiments, which will help you save on fat

1 package ground white turkey (1.3 lbs)

1/3 cup of your favorite barbeque sauce

1 Tablespoon of your favorite mustard (I used stone ground)

1 Tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce

? teaspoon salt

? teaspoon pepper

1/3 cup bleu cheese

4-6 whole wheat buns

In a medium bowl, combine all ingredients until mixed well.  Use ice cream scoop or ? cup measure to make 4-6 equal-size patties.

Put patties on broiler or pan lined with foil and sprayed with cooking spray.

Broil or grill patties for 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until done.

Serve of warm whole wheat buns

Wasabi Tuna Burgers

Amazing tuna burgers, topped off with wasabi mayonnaise.

Makes 12 servings.

Tuna Burger:

4 pounds sushi-grade ahi tuna

5 basil leaves, chopped

4 scallions, chopped

2 heaping tablespoons black sesame seeds

4 tablespoons low-sodium soy sauce

4 tablespoons honey

Wasabi Mayonnaise:

2 tablespoons wasabi paste

3 tablespoons low-fat mayonnaise (such as safflower)

Salt and pepper to taste

Juice of 1/2 lemon

Juice of 1/2 lime

Tuna Burger:

Combine all ingredients and form into 12 patties.

Grill, turning once, until medium-rare.

Top with wasabi mayonnaise.

Wasabi Mayonnaise:

Combine all ingredients. (If you are pressed for time, wasabi mayonnaise can by found in most upscale supermarkets and health food stores.)

Mexican Turkey Burger

A healthier, spicier burger.

1 lb. ground turkey meat (white if ultra low fat, dark for more flavor, a mixture for a combination of elements)

? red pepper, chopped

? yellow pepper, chopped small (if you only have one color, that is fine)

? tsp cumin

? tsp. chili powder

Dash of tabasco

Dash of worcestershire

Salt and pepper

Combine all ingredients together then divide into four equal sized patties.

Broil in oven at 500 degrees until cooked. The center should not be pink at all.

Serve with toppings. Try salsa or avocado to stick with the Mexican theme.
