CD- Good luck tomorrow!

It's tomorrow, right? Do you have the ice cream and mashed potatos ready? Mine really weren't that bad at all. The only thing I suggest is seeing if they can give you some anti nausea meds before hand. The medicine made me sick and it was not fun puking with a swollen face filled w/bloody gauze. Once the nausea passed however, the swelling went down quickly and recovery was a breeze. By the 2nd day I felt pretty close to normal.

  • Ooh another tip! If you pass out when you don't eat, ask them to put sugar water in your IV. Good luck! You'll get some great sleep tomorrow. ;)

  • You'll be fine. The Doc thought that I was going to have major swelling and bruising because of the location of one of my wisdom teeth (almost in my sinuses) but I didn't swell or bruise at all. My one bit of advice would be don't eat solids before you're supposed to. I tried to eat something too soon and bits of it got stuck in that area. I had to go back and have the nurse flush out my wound. That was gross.

  • Another tip: ice packs as much as you can handle them! If you can handle it, put fresh packs on every 20-30 minutes for the first 24 hours, and swelling should be minimal.

Oh, and don't be afraid of the narcotics. They're your friend!

Funny story... When DH first moved to Melbourne, I came down with him one weekend to check everything out. There was a random street across from our apartment that had all these "Horse Crossing" signs. He told me that according to the Town Charter, everyone gets a pony. LIES!

I think it's safe to say I'm down with the pain pills. This shouldn't come as surprise to anyone.

  • I had my pulled my junior year of high school and I thought it was a party for like three days with the pain pills. It was great, easy recovery, hope yours goes the same!

  • Good luck! It's not the most fun thing in the world, but the pain pills are a plus.

  • Good luck, coming from the girl that is to chicken to have hers pulled.
  • Good luck!  I had my wisdom teeth out years ago .. I was still in college.  I don't remember much other than eating mashed potatoes afterward.

Will you be awake and numbed or asleep for the procedure?

I had mine out in college and took a final that night, it wasn't a big deal at all, I hope yours is equally easy!
