RH of NYC?

I realized why I felt like I missed something last week - it was b/c I went to bed and only watched the first half (before they went out to The Hamptons).  So. ... anyway, I watched the second 1/2 of last weeks episode last night and OMG - Alex is awful.  I cannot believe how argumentative she is w/ Jill.  Its really, really weird and rude.  I get it, you don't like her, you think she's a liar, etc. but its not like she's an axe murder or something.  I dont' know why she's taken this on as her personal mission in life.

  • I agree. I really don't like Jill but in this case I give her credit for not losing her shiit. I could not take someone trying to bait me over and over like that. I think Alex finally got a backbone and now she's out to get revenge for the past few years where she did let people walk all over her and it's really immature. I wonder if she's just trying to get more attention? It's so odd..

Did you see Watch What Happens Live? Omg Jill looked like a J Lo drag queen, it was awful!

I liked that Kelly wasn't on there a ton, she's the worst. I can't remember what else I had to say about it...

  • I think Jill looked like Madonna circa 1989.  Reminded me of the outfit she wore with the cone shaped boobs.

  • Can we talk about Alex v. Sonja?

Sonja calling the march "her day" was absolutely ridiculous.  You're "grand marshal" and giving a (shitty_) speech - get over yourself.  It's not like you're being title Dame Of The Gays.  And to do it on the grounds that no one else in the group may speak was just douchey.

Alex and Simon should have stopped harping on her once it was clear she wasn't going to do anything about it.  I understand why they were upset and think they were right, but it wasn't going anywhere.

Sonja's the one who brought it all up with Alex as soon as she saw her at the art party (that painting was ugly, but the painter is easy on the eyes).  It got out of hand and Alex shouldn't have been quite so rabid about it, but Sonja repeating "not the time or the place" was laughable since she's the one who freakin' brought it up.

As an aside, as annoying as I find her, I think LuAnn is so pretty.  Her makeup always looks nice, she has a flattering hairstyle, I usually like her clothes.  I can't wait to see her react to talking about "landscaping" in next week's episode.

  • I think Sonja is so full of herself thinking that it was "her day."  I thought Alex was right to attempt to point out that it was about the cause but once Sonja kept saying it was her day Alex should have left it alone.  Sonja was just too self-centered to get that it really wasn't about her.  Then on Watch What Happens she (Sonja) totally contradicted herself and outright lied.  First she said that she was asked to be the grand marshall before she signed on to Housewives then when a caller asked her what made her a gay icon she then then said she didn't know and maybe they asked her because of housewives.  I think she realizes how badly she looked and is now trying to justify her behavior.

Even though Sonja was totally wrong in her perception of the event that doesn't make up for Alex's poor behavior.  I get that she's "found her voice" but she seriously needs to learn some tact.  She confronts people at the wrong time and it always leads to such a verbally aggressive situation.  She should have tabled the issue (even though sonja brought it up) and maybe addressed the issue privately.  The same thing with confronting Jilll at the wedding.

  • At least LuAnn is consistent, kwim?  She seems like the most stable, normal of all of them.

The Alex vs. Sonja fight was weird.  I thought it was funny when she referred to herself as a Gay Icon?  Ummmm - really?

  • Ditto everything FIA said.

It really irked me how Sonja kept saying it was "her day". Even when she tried to explain herself on Watch What Happens Live, she still cam off sounding conceited about the whole thing. She also kept saying that New Yorkers love "their gays" which makes it sound like supporting marriage equality, etc is trendy vs a cause she really believes in.

Yes, Alex should have been the bigger person and dropped the issue at Sonja's party but Sonja approached her to talk about it! How can she then say "This is not the time or the place"? I didn't like Alex in the beginning, I liked her last season, and I'm back to not liking her again. She has also this pent up anger and now she is lashing out. Here's an idea: If you don't like someone, don't hang out with them.

  • I think Alex is getting a bad rap.  I think she's right about Sonja being a glory hog (I think Sonja is just a disgusting person).  Alex may need to adjust her tactics, but Sonja brought up the parade at her party and not Alex.  I'm glad she's calling people out on their bad behavior, but it doesn't excuse her from behaving negatively.  There is a right way and a wrong way, a time and a place...
