So, when the first Chipotle came to our area, Dh and a bunch of our friends went to the grand opening. I didn't like it then...thought it was way too spicy.
That was several years ago. I forgot about that experience until Dh and I rode to our local Chipotle last night for dinner. I was nervous since I'm not really a fan of Mexican/southwestern to begin with, but DH was craving it. I ordered the little soft tacos in the hopes that I would only eat 1 or 2 and be good to go and either eat the extra for leftovers and/or give it to DH for lunch. One bite, last night and my mouth was on FIRE. I turned sideways to see if DH could see sparks flying from my mouth. (He he he he). I only got the mild salsa, so I don't know if maybe I might even be allergic to an ingredient they use or if I'm just extra super sensitive to it. (Admittedly, I'm NOT a fan of heat in food.) Either way, it will be a LONG time before I step back in a Chipotle for food of my own. Too bad--as far as "fast food" goes, that's one of the better companies out there.
Re: My dinner funny last night
Hah you sound like me! I LOVE their steak tacos and on random trips, I usually have to have a small cup of milk near me. However, I've found that they've turned down the spice in the steak at least. Also, if the bin is near empty, I'll opt for chicken because I can only assume that whatever is left over is fully loaded with spice due to being at the bottom and having it drip down.
With that said I still loveeee chipolte and if we weren't making turkey meatball sandwiches tonight, we'd totally be going there for dinner. Their guacamole is amazing!
I also usually get the 3 tacos and save one for the following day. I always joke that it should come with 4 so that I can have two the next day and not just 1. DH gets the burrito and eats in it one sitting. I have NO idea how he does that! It's like a little baby!
Did ya'll got to the Cary one?
