sunscreen for face

Usually I try to stay indoors during peak sun hours, but my job is basically outside.  I need some good sunscreen for my face.  Does anyone have any recs?

I currently use a Neutrogena for my face (forget the name, but it's supposed to be "special" for the face) but the SPF is only 15 & I'd like something more like 30+.  I used a higher SPF sunscreen yesterday & now I have 2 lovely zits as a result!

Re: sunscreen for face

  • I like Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer sunblock for my face. It really goes on very light. I think it comes in SPF 30 and 50.

  • I use Nuetrogena Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer. It has spf 30.

  • You can get Neutrogena Ultra Sheer in SPF 70.  I bought my last set at Costco.  Now given, there isn't much of a benefit over SPF 50, but Im super pale and had a coupon so I get what they sell :)
  • Oh, and get a hat as well.
  • I bought Aveeno Continuous Protection for face in SPF 30 for my beach trip last year. I used it everyday without breaking out. I believe you can get up to SPF 100...
  • I have used both Neutrogena Ultra Sheer and an Aveeno one. I mostly now just try to stay out of the sun because everything seems to set my face off but I can usually use those two without much trouble.

I'm investigating those hats that offer UV protection for myself so that I can get away with just my moisturizer with 30SPF. I just bought one for Hannah that is 50+UPF protection from babybanz but they don't make adult sizes.

  • I don't know why but drugstore moisturizers with spf make me break out...it sucks. Over the years, I've tried Neutrogena, Aveeno, Oil of Olay, Almay and I'm sure I'm forgetting a few. But I have had good luck with Clinique. Right now I'm using their "Even Better" moisturizer that has spf 20.

I was using Hope in a Jar 20 from Philosophy and I love it, but they reformulated it to spf 25 and it made me breakout big time :-(
