Dogs don't need thumbs to get sht done.
Joe is home sick today (because he quit his job and is using up his sick time!!) and he tried to sleep in a bit. He had the dogs kenneled up...
Jenson opened his kennel FROM THE INSIDE, let himself out and somehow let Chloe out.
Of course, Joe had shut the door the office where we keep their kennels, so they decided to shred some papers (and our taxes! good thing we already efiled!) until Joe woke up from the noise and let them out.

I feel your pain.
Stella has figured out how to do that, too -- and she's efficient! We thought it was a fluke at first, but then it happend the next two times we left the house. One time we were gone for just 45 minutes. We got home and she greeted us at the door. Thankfully we had no destruction!
We've resorted to carabiner cilps over the latches. She's been escape free since. I highly recommend it

We do use carabiner clips!
So, Joe told me that Jenson actually folded in one of the sides of his kennel... while he was inside of it. Not sure how he managed that.. but he folded in one of the short sides, walked right out, but was still talented enough to unlatch Chloe's kennel.
They just ate some paper, chewed up a box and made a mess. Nothing too crazy - they ate our taxes but we efiled so it was just our print out for our file. We can reprint it!

Impressive! Seems they're getting along quite well if he put in the effort to let his sister out, too
We've had to zip-tie the sides of our crate since that was Stella's original preferred method of escape.

my mouth is agape.
i had a lab that was a master escape artist (with massive separation anxiety) and destroyed many things in my house.
glad to hear you'd already filed and i hope you didn't lose anything of value!
Impressive. 2 escapes in one afternoon!
Good thing there wasn't much damage, like strength, we had an escape artist who did way more damage than eating a box and shredding paper. Ours ate drywall and bathroom flooring after she destroyed her crate.

Wow, that's impressive work. Looks like you have one mischievous pup on your hands. I'm glad they didn't do any real damage and at least someone was home when it happened.
I can relate to that, our two are escape artists as well and shred just about anything they come in contact with after they're free. My dining room chairs, and base boards are the worst of the damage they've inflicted though.
Glad they didn't do too much damage.
