Closet organizing?

Okay, so I'm trying to organize my closet. I'd love to buy something to go in my closet to help because I'm horrible at keeping it organized.

What do you have? Double points for pictures Smile

Re: Closet organizing?

  • I am not sure how to post pictures, but I love huggable hangers. they are very slim and save me tons of space. I have A LOT of clothes and I need all the space I can have. I also have hooks all over my closet to hang things quick and I use the hight all the way to the top to store things. I invested in a prof closet shelving which I love, but I know that could be expensive.

    Good Luck

  • this is from "allthingsG&D" she is a former nestie and i always refer to this for some ideas:

i also have some of these on the top shelves of my clothing closet for my sweaters, etc. that we stack:

i also went through and organized all my tops by color, hanging like colors together. it really does help speed the process in picking out what i'm going to wear. i organized the stacked tops by color, too. where my pants hang, i have dress/work pants together, jeans, capris and then shorts. i have all of my skirts together, as well as my dresses and jackets, each respectively.

  • I hang all tops by sleeve length, jeans are hung darkest to lightest, dresses by occasion.  No real rhyme or reason, this is just what works best for me personally.  I think it takes a lot of trial and error to use your space!

  • I dont currently have a closet to organize, as we are in the middle of a move :)However, I would recomend the new issue of Luckey (with Zooey Deschanel on the cover). It has a, like, ten-page spread with advice on how to organize your closet (lots of pics included!!)

  • This is really close to how my closet is organized..

I also have drawers against one of the walls.

And I completely agree with the huggable hangers though I don't prefer that brand. BB&B used to have good quality store brand hangers, not sure if they still do.

  • I like belt hangers, pants hangers & skirt hangers b/c they help w/ organizing! I also have a slim storage hanging item from Ikea that houses bras, underware, socks/etc. in my closet. And I love my shoe rack that turns from Walmart - I have 2 & use small baskets for flip flops.
  • No photos but DH built me shelves along 1 wall for all of our shoes.  I originally had them in plastic boxes up on the shelf abut the clothing racks but this way I can see my shoes.  Then I have all of my clothes organized by type of clothes and then by color (DH's too).  I repurposed a few of the plastic crates to hold all of DH's hats.
