I am SO excited for this movie to come out. Is anyone else planning on seeing it?
You can totally judge me for this but Robert Pattinson makes me swoon.
Lots of love and continual explosions of babydust to my BG Besties! XOXOXOXO

Re: Water for Elephants
This really surprises me about you but I can't put my finger on why. You seem too....hmm....rational to like Twilight. *sits back and waits for flames*
I too am looking forward to the movie. I like the shorter hair on RP, it annoys me when he does the weird scoop-my-greasy-hair-back move in interviews.
I loved the book, but I'm not that excited about the movie...I'm worried they'll make it lame, and honestly... I wish people would read the book! Like... I wish they'd wait longer to make the movie, so that people wouldn't skip reading the book and just go straight to the movie. But...I'm a lover of books, so I'll never understand people who aren't.
Also, I couldn't care less about RP. I hate Twilight with every fiber of my being. (The books, that is... I didn't see the movies.)
I do love Reese Witherspoon though
I read the book too and loved it. I am curious about what they will keep in the movie and what they will change.....there were so many different storylines going on I felt like.....I just don't know how they would do justice to it all.
I also like RP with shorter hair...... he totally does it for me. Then again, I haven't seen my husband in 34 days so maybe I am overly excited by RPatts at the moment.

Yes! The book is really good and I would definitely read it before seeing the movie. Then again, I always advocate for reading the book before seeing the movie.
RP skeeves me out. I do not understand why people think he is so swoon worthy. I'm sure the movie will be good though. I'm looking forward to seeing it at some point.
I LOVE the book. I was really excited a year or so ago when they announced the movie was being made. Then I heard RP was going to be the lead.
1. I did not picture him as Jacob.
2. He better not mumble through the whole movie.
3. He better keep his shirt on because I don't want to see his funky nipple again.
my read shelf:
Hahaha! Agreed on all counts
Just finished the book, and absolutely loved it. For some reason (even though I knew Jacob was Robert Pattinson) I kept picturing Leonardo DiCaprio in the role of Jacob. I love me some Robert for sure though, and I think Reese and Rob will be a great/interesting combo!
I hope they don't do too many of the icky animal scenes though. Gut wrenching to read, and it'd be worse to see it.
Jersey Shore? Oh ick.
Just please oh please don't be one of these yahoos...

I think Leo would have been a MUCH better choice. So much better.
Also, I read an article the other day in which Reese said the love scenes with RP were super gross and NOT hot, because he had a nasty cold while they were shooting them and was snotting and snorting green crud the whole time they were having to do kissing scenes. Ewwwwwww! I'm not going to be able to avoid that image now when I watch the movie. Shudder.
Sorry if I just spoiled the love scenes for anyone else
I LOVED the book. L.O.V.E.D. IT. I 99% of the time loathe the movie versions of books.. so I don't think I'll even see it.
I'm not a twihard (or whatever) so I could care less about RPatz.

I loved the book.
I can't wait to see the movie.
RPatz sucks...and I love twilight. lol. Even after being cast, I can't picture him as Jacob.
I'll definitely be going to the movie. Maybe a GTG idea?
-Liked the book
-Loved the Twilight books
-Lukewarm on the Twilight movies
-Iffy on RPatt in general. He always looks like he's sucking on a lemon to me
Oh no! I do not have any tattoos, let alone a goofy Twilight tattoo.
Do you not like me? I don't even post very much.
Ha! That was my first thought too. Like noooooo, don't go to the dark side!!
Judging
I also loved the book and am semi-excited for the movie. Not excited enough to see it in the theater, but I'll see it when it comes out a video. I really don't see RP in that role....whoever suggested Leo....I think that would work better, but I pictured someone a little more nerdy like James McAvoy or Joseph Gordon Levitt. I also would not have put Reese as Marlena.
I've been hoping that RP is going to really surprise me and be great in the role....who knows, sometimes it ends up working out. And sometimes it doesn't.....Tom Hanks as Robert Langdon in the Da Vinci Code, anyone?!

i loved the book! i read it a couple years ago and didn't want it to end.
i'm BUMMED to hear rPat is going to play the lead because he CAN'T ACT. as much as i enjoyed the Twilight books, i couldn't make it through the movies. the acting was just too awful.
i probably won't see the WfE movie because of rPat (who i also don't find attractive in the least).
he's much MUCH better in Remember Me, and Harry Potter. A lot of the problem with the acting in Twilight is the material, even some of the people who are usually pretty good look awful in Twilight.
I loved the books Water for Elephants and Twilight.
Do not care for Robert Pattinson. I watch the Twilight movies only because I read the books. I am looking forward to seeing how they interpret the fourth book.
Looking forward to the Water for Elephants movie but wishing they had found someone other than RP for it.
Bingo. Take a crappy story, add crappy actors.....instant crappy movies. Oscar winning actors couldn't make a good movie out of that stuff.
Totally right. The screenplays blow, it is a totally ridiculous story, and things like makeup don't help either. They are spectacularly, cheestastically bad.
What makes me sad for humanity is that there are plenty of people who disagree.
I kind of wish the books had come out before I took my creative writing class in college. The professor for that class was awe-some and I bet she would have had a LOT to say about S. Meyer's (technically awful) writing! The only downside to that class though is she kind of "ruined" a lot of writing for me because it turns out there is a lot of junky fiction out there.
lol. I always describe them as the best worst written books I've ever read. She's a HORRID writer, but she is a fantastic storyteller. I kind of laugh when people make fun of twilight names...when our kids are in school, they won't have even heard of Twilight, it's not like it's going to become a classic like Harry Potter most likely will.
This is such a great description of them. Her technical skill is about mid-level (or worse) fanfiction, but the storytelling is amazing.
This exactly. I got totally wrapped up in the stories, but the writing was mediocre at best.
