Most Delicious Brownies EVER

Let me start this post by saying that I don't bake.  I'm great at cooking, but not the best baker on the planet.  I try to bake and it hardly ever works.  But it's a rainy day and brownies sounded good, so I tried a new recipe and these are the BEST brownies I've ever had!

Here's the recipe:

-1 package (19.5 oz) of fudge brownie mix

-2 cups unwrapped caramels

-1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk

-1/2 cup butter

-2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Here are the steps:

1. Preheat oven to 350 and make brownie mix according to instructions on box.

2. Spread 1 1/2 cups brownie batter evenly in 9 x 13 baking dish.  Bake 10-15 minutes or until center is set.  Set aside remaining batter.

3.  While brownies are in the oven, combine caramels, butter, and condensed milk in a medium saucepan and whisk over medium heat until caramels are melted.

4. Spread caramel sauce over brownies and sprinkle with chocolate chips.  Pour remaining brownie batter in pan, and bake 20-25 more minutes.

*Once baked, the recipe calls for the brownies to be refrigerated until served, which I'm sure would take great.  But I couldn't wait to eat one because they were so warm and gooey, and OH MY GOSH!  Yum!  I'll refrigerate the rest, but I loved the chocolaty, caramel mess of them warm.  Just thought I'd share in case anybody else is having a rainy day!
