aww babies

The anatomy scan went well last night (despite some logistical issues resulting in my walking about 1.5 miles through some nicer transitional areas and some not so nice areas of JErsey City AND having to get McDonalds, yuck, for dinner because our appt time was screwed up). Both babies are measuring on track (10 and 11 oz) and look good. I got to watch the whole thing which was cool since I haven't seen them since 13w. They've doubled in size since her 16w appt when they measured 6oz! However, I think they were angry because it was their second scan of the day (they had cardic echos done earlier, our peri wanted them b/c C has a mild murmur, and they're perfect!) and they totally didn't cooperate.  A still needs a scan of her left hand, and B needs the heart scans and something else I forget. It was complicated by C having some gas which obscured the screen from a few spots on her belly Stick out tongue

and here ya go (she only gave us headshots...I'll have to ask for full ones at our follow up next week I guess, and I know the tech (who is kind of bad at this) will give C full ones at her next appt in two weeks, but they're always weird angles!)

C (teehee, pun intended, limited time showing) in our lovely attic abode-of-the-moment (sigh):

:;poof::

ETA: Both babies have anterior placentas, which might explain why she is only getting internal rolling and an occassional mild jab and not real kicks yet (aside from that its still really early), so I feel a little better now (though Jo's placenta-cutting mention below also gives me heart palpitations, and I'll have to keep that in mind for the next doc appt).

    haha you know I was thinking the same in that photo. I swear she looks bigger IRL. Maybe its a flattering shirt? She's up 20 lbs, and I know her belly is past her chest too!

  • All 3 of them look great!

    Glad to hear they are growing big and healthy! So happy for you!!!!!

    A, B, and C all look great! I'm glad the scans and echos went well. Has C always had a murmur, or is it a symptom of pregnancy? Either way, from the recent research I've done it doesn't seem like they are a problem in most people who have them.

    I'm sorry to worry you Sad The placenta cutting was not done on purpose. They were in a hurry to get the kiddos out since SIL had really high BP. I'm confident that many many c-sections are done with a placenta in the way and there is no cutting.

  • Jo, its probably a pregnancy symptom (if its not, she didn't know). The peri sends all moms of multiples for an echo because he wants a baseline (as people who develop issues tend to start spiking their BP, getting big murmurs, etc at 28+ weeks, and then its too late to know what you started with). the cardiologist said its prob the result of her blood volume going up so fast.

    I'm glad you mentioned the issue since they're both anterior...rather check w/ the doc on it now than later! Hopefully it won't be a problem. I'm glad the twins came out ok - an emergency C is such a scary concept!

    And THIS!  I swear I look bigger than she does and I am only 11 weeks and only have 1!

  • We have two names - Avery & Quinn - but they go best together, so we're kind of SOL right now. We want more...traditional? names for their first names (or middle, undecided) so they have choices. This sounds nuts, I know. Stick out tongue

  • Love the pictures of your little ones and C looks fantastic. I forgot to mention yesterday that I have an anterior placenta too! I started feeling stronger movements (more than just flutters) around 22 weeks. Hope that helps.
