date night FAIL
Last week ILs volunteered to take DD overnight tonight so DH and I could have a date night. We made plans to go to Nosh for dinner and the Pirates game afterward. Today, DH woke up with a raging head cold. We dropped DD off, ate dinner as planned, skipped the hockey game, and now DH is headed to bed. So much for my hot date.

Sorry your date night didn't work out. Maybe you'll get a second chance tomorrow morning (if it's only a 24 hour thing?)?
that really sucks. on the plus side, you have the night to yourself...how does a bottle of wine, some chocolate, and a chick flick sound?? (i'd pay money for a night like that right now)
and, as daniele mentioned...maybe all will look up in the morning....

how was dinner? I've only had a sandwich to-go from Nosh, but I've heard everything there is pretty awesome...
DH had the poutine with mortadella special and he liked it.
I ordered smashed fried plantains, tempura bacon, and bacon dusted fries. I wanted to love it but I ended up feeling rather "meh" about the dinner. For fried plaintains, I'm used to having them just sliced and fried. Because these were smashed flat before frying, they were more crunchy than I am used to. They tasted ok but it wasn't what I was craving. The best way I can describe the tempura bacon is "too much." I love bacon and I love tempura, but the combination of the two was too greasy for my taste. The bacon dusted fries were delicious.
thanks for the review! tempura bacon does sound like complete grease overload...I had their tuna sandwich (which I realize is NOT the point of Nosh) and it was delicious, but not something I would necessarily go back for
