Hi everyone,
I am a Cbus nestie, but my hubs is moving to Toledo to attend their law school on a full ride scholarship. I'm staying in Cbus because of my job. What is the area like, activities for his little free time, etc.?
Re: Husband moving to Toledo
Well that stinks, in regards to being apart. Do you plan on coming up on weekend?
Since the weather **should** be getting nice, there are of course all the Parks in the area. Wildwood, Swan Creek, Peirson, Side Cut, Toledo Botanical.
There will also be the Farmers Market downtown on the weekends. Mud Hens Baseball. The Toledo Muesum of Art.
Does he golf? There are numerous golf courses. There is also the Maumee Sports Mall with batting cages.
And like Brandy said, check out dotoledo.
That is definitely a bummer that you'll be apart, but it's not too terrible of a drive, so that's good!
There are tons of wonderful things in Toledo!! PPs touched on a lot of them, and dotoledo.com is a great resource!
Some other stuff....
There are lots of fairs and festivals here in the summer months, and those are always fun.
Volunteering can be a great way to meet new friends! I know law school schedules don't really allow for a ton of free time, but there are a ton of great organizations around here that are always looking for volunteers, and there are plenty of flexible options.
In addition to our awesome Metroparks, there's a great trail that runs right through UT campus if he likes to bike/rollerblade/run.
We have a TON of great restaurants, and lots of fun bars too for when he needs a break!
I don't have a ton of suggestions, but my husband is finishing is 1st year this semester, he is part time though. The law school has a lot of activities and they keep them pretty busy. There are speakers almost every day and they do events a couple times a week. It is almost like being in high school again, most people have the same people in every class, there are lockers, and most people are on campus 90% of their time.
This I'm sure will be very challenging but so far it has been okay for us (he works full time and goes to school part time). GL and PM me if you have any questions I might be able to help with.
