Hey girls

Just wanted to drop in and say hi. I'm not dead! Just to play catch-up..

I'm currently not in pain. I found out a coworker of mine had similar issues, and hers ended up being a blood clot that had put itself between her cervix and ovary. Every doctor thought endometriosis and wanted to do surgery, she got a second opinion. The doctor did and MRI and found the clot, and was able to remove the clot with minimal invasion. I've called the doctor, he does take my insurance, and told me to wait until my next cycle to see how I feel. So that's the course I'm exploring now.

Work is what it is.. and I'm actually looking for another job. They cut out 4 of my shifts this week (HUGE when you only work 6) so I've taken the sign, and I'm looking around. I was offered a chef position for a small catering company. I plan on taking it, but it's per-diem. So I found an ad for a restaurant looking for a bartender/waitress that's 10 mins from my house (walking time, 2 min drive)

We moved into the upstairs apartment over the last 2 days. It's so much roomier! And quiet! The landlord ended up not charging us the $500 he mentioned (did I bring this up? the SOB wanted to charge us $500 for painting and cleaning) I managed to get the old place cleaner than it was when we moved in. He couldn't believe it.. and joking said he'd keep me in mind for future cleanups lol

Our tax returns aren't terrible this year. We're getting a decent refund from the gov't, but I owe the state because of the egg donation.. Stupid no money being taken out. Grr!

And last on the news front, we're trying to sell our SUV. The alternator went on us the other night. It took 3 hours for the tow to get there (great after a 14 hour day!) and now the brakes are going. We were told the value on it is just over $9k. Maybe being in a new neighbourhood will help us sell the damn thing. It's been nothing but a headache!

OK, I've rambled on enough.. now lemme go get caught up on the posts! (this apartment gets a great signal! lol)

Re: Hey girls

  • Nice hearing from you City! And I'm really happy to hear you aren't in any pain. Good luck selling the car too. Are you going to list it on CraigsList or just put a sign outside?

  • I'm confused - you owe taxes because of egg donation? That just seems wrong!

Your stiped was not tax free? That does seem wrong. Even people who foster receive their stiped tax free, but are able to claim the child as a dependent.

  • Oh man, I hope you figure out what's going on inside so you stop having these issues sweetie.

As far as the stipend for the egg donation, boo!  I didn't realize something like that would be taxed.
