Furniture (br)

I think we have decided on furniture and hopefully we can go this weekend and buy it.

Sleigh bed in Cherry. It is a convertable crib that goes from a toddler bed to a regular bed

This changing table is not part of the collection but it is cherry and the one that does go with the collection is around $150 and I just did not want to spend that and this one is only $99.

This is the glider that we are thinking about but I want to test it out at the store

I know not everything will match because the bookcase is a light color and the dresser is a different color, but we do what we have to do and use what we have as we don't want to spend a fortune.

Bookcase is this color

Dresser is this

Re: Furniture (br)

  • pretty!

would you be willing to paint the existing furniture? I think it would be really pretty to paint those pieces a color from the bedding. We have mixed pieces in our bedroom...some are a dark wood and my sidetable and dresser are painted light blue and i think it looks nice.

  • also...I don't know what height your dresser is, but do you think it could work as the changing table? I've seen where people just add a changing pad on top. That's what we plan on doing since the room for our nursery is super small.

If you could do that, that'll save some $$!

  • we tested that glider and i love it! it's comfy and i love how the ottoman glides too!

I need to see about that. I am thinking it might be too high but I will check it out tonight.

I would be willing but DH on the other hand is a different story. I would love to paint it all the same color as the bed but I will have to see.

  • I really like the pieces you picked out. For me personally I do not like mixing of wood colors. I do not mind stained wood with a painted dresser that is really cute. But with the right bedding and wall art and all it would not be as noticeable.

  • I like those!  I agree with Lauren, paint the other pieces to match the rest of the decor.  Make sure to use primer, if and when you ever want to strip them back to their original state.
  • Is that glider from Walmart? I was looking online at all their gliders/rockers since we're probably getting the crib from there (Baby Mod Olivia), and saw one like that. I went to the store closest to me and they didn't have it, and all the gliders they did have were on display up on high shelves so you couldn't try them out! I'm also looking at a chair from Ikea, but am having a hard time deciding.
