Re: *TomandCourt* How was the staycation??
Since she "liked" cityZen on FB, I'm guessing it went well!
Can't wait to hear the full report!
It was awesome! We had a seriously great time. Let's see . . .
Friday: We checked into the Tabard Inn. If you've never stayed there, that place is a bit of a maze. We had a huge room with like 20-foot ceilings. Then we headed down to Central, where met up with friends and had a ton of food (gougeres!) and too many drinks. After that we went to Poste for a few more drinks (bad idea!) before cabbing back to the hotel.
Saturday: We could only get reservations at Tabard for one night. We had late checkout, though, so we pretty much slept all morning (slept, slept it off, call it what you will). Walked around Dupont and got lunch at Chop't, then checked into our other hotel - The Dupont Hotel. Kind of the polar opposite from Tabard, but very modern and a much more comfy bed. Which we stayed in most of the day.
Saturday night: CityZen! We got the tasting menu with wine pairing. For those of you who care:
Sunday: Slept until 9:00, then walked around Dupont. Had brunch at Teaism, went to the farmer's market. Checked out, and took a looooong walk up Embassy Row enjoying the weather. Hit Kramerbooks, and then it was time to go home!
All in all, it was awesome. DH and I really got to reconnect and talk about stuff other than DS (although we did talk about that too). It was so nice to just be able to walk around holding hands (not pushing strollers) and plan the day around our own schedule.
