HR folks - How long to put together an offer
I was told last Tuesday that the company I had been interviewing with was going to begin putting together an offer for me. I'm getting antsy! Also, saw that the job was reposted in LinkedIn which is unnerving. What might be involved in putting together an offer that takes so long?
TIA!

Re: HR folks - How long to put together an offer
Is the offer contingent on anything? Sometimes checking references can take a few days if the hiring manager is leaving voicemails and not getting a response. Sometimes background checks take a few days to get back as well.
But, it takes me about 5 minutes to actually put together an offer letter. I would call them, honestly. If it has been reposted, that is definitely a red flag. Since they told you to expect an offer almost a week ago, it is definitely appropriate to call for a status update.
