I need some Zoo help

Well, i video conferenced with my niece yesterday and they are coming in a couple weeks and i asked her what she wanted to do, and she said, i want to see a polar bear!  Soooooo where is there a polar bear around here???

Re: I need some Zoo help

  • I don't know where there are Polar Bears, but Southwick Zoo is awesome!
  • i was literally just on their website.  it does look pretty cool.  They don't have an aquarium in Dallas either, so we are going to take a ride there too.
  • Since RWZ doesn't have polar bears during their construction, I really don't know *where* you'd be able to find them even somewhat locally.

  • Southwick is really pretty great if you've never been! The kids will LOVE the deer and there are lots of animals we don't have here....
  • Well they are coming from Texas, and their Forth Worth Zoo is awesome.  I was like a kid running through it at our last visit!  I mentioned camels while i was talking to her and she was like OH CAMELS! I LOVE CAMELS! WHATS A CAMEL?  so i think i need to find a zoo with that as a runner up! lol

  • We stuck to the "Fabric of Africa" exhibit on our last trip to RWZ (since I can hardly pry Shannon away from the giraffes and elephants), but the "Marco Polo Trail" has (had?) dromedary camels. They were my cousin's daughter's favorite!

  • No idea for a real polar bear but the PawSox mascot is a polar bear. As for the camels, Southwicks lets you RIDE a camel, elephant, and ponies. Have fun!
