M/S

Okay, so I know that everyone's pregnancy is different, but I have to ask.  I was feeling better recently until this last weekend.  I am about 13 weeks now.  I don't know if it is because I was doing better at managing to eat small meals throughout the day, and I fell off the wagon, or if it is just M/S coming back to rear its ugly head.  So, I googled it this morning (google should be taken away from me, I swear).  And, I found some articles (mostly just posts on websites though) that say the more/stronger the M/S, the more likely you are to have a girl.  Just wondering if that is true for anyone, or if this bogus.  Any thoughts from you ladies out there???  Better yet, can someone tell me that I will feel better soon?  I feel like I was at a kegger last night with The Beast!!!

Re: M/S

  • I had hardly any (to none) and I had a girl :-) Although I've heard the stronger the m/s that it's a girl-can't say it was true for me!

  • Ugh, I am sorry you are not feeling well! With my first I was sick for 16 weeks, with my second it was 23 weeks! Every pregnancy is so different though. If it worked for you before, I would go back to small, frequent meals and see if you feel better tomorrow....I sure hope it doesn't stick around for you!
  • I was only sick in the evenings after I ate a REALLY good dinner LOL and I think it stuck around the whole time. But I never really had the actual M/S.

I'm sorry you're still getting sick, keep Campbells Chicken Noodle Soup and Ritz crackers close! Those are what kept me happy for a LONG time :)

  • I didn't really have any m/s and I had a girl.  PennyPie had horrible m/s and she has a boy :o)

  • I had mild m/s with Ella until about week 20 throwing up only once a day or so. With Brody I had AWFUL m/s (hyperemesis) causing me to have a PICC and home IV fluids for over 3 months. I lost 15 pounds in the first 9 weeks if that tells you anything so no, that wive's tale didn't hold true for me! :) I hope you feel better soon- ugh I shudder at the memories!

  • Sorry that it's rearing it's ugly head at you!!!  No morning sickness and had Miss Maddie.

  • I didn't have M/S ( I know, I was really lucky) and I had a girl.

  • I've had very little ms, mostly just at the beginning of pregnancy. Sources say we're having a girl, but I'll let you know in a month if that's the case for sure!

Too True!!!! And he is all boy too! M/S stinks, but it goes away and you never remember even having it.  I lived on saltines and chicken noodle soup as well. :)

  • Well, I think my theory is foiled!  Thanks for the responses ladies!!!
