help with resume/cover letter...?

can anyone help me or explain what needs to go on each of these. I've only had one job my entire life and it was in manufacturing. I was there for 7 years. I just moved to a new state and am trying to find something here. Everything I've found online asks for a resume and cover letter, but I've honestly never had to type one up and have no idea where to even start. Can someone help me or at least point me in the right direction? thanks :)

Re: help with resume/cover letter...?

  • Microsoft Word has a resume template.

Google resumes and cover letters, and you'll find plenty of examples

  • Sometimes you can search online for resume templates for the kind of job you're looking for. You can usually also search for cover letters for certain types of professions, though reading through tips for cover letters are best since you don't want yours to look exactly like everyone else's. Good luck!
  • Thank you! Also, when a place asks for just my resume, do I just paste it into the body of the email or attach as a file?

Convert it to a pdf and attach it
