Cupcake wine is the best.

DH and I are working from home today and all the house drama led us to open a bottle of wine so I thought I would share that Cupcake Savignon Blanc is the best wine ever.  I have it at parties all the time and others seem to love it too.  Look for it in the New Zealand section of your wine store, put seriously pick some up, as it is delicious!

Re: Cupcake wine is the best.

  • Is it a sweet or dry wine?  I tend to go for very sweet-ice wines are my favorite...

  • My twice retired dad (Stick out tongue) works part time in the wine business (because he gets bored and can't just enjoy retirement), and would completely agree with you.  We were actually just talking about this wine last week because he had a bottle of it at their house (we didn't drink it or anything (especially me, obviously), but it was out, and he likes to talk about it!).

I said that the name is very tempting!

I believe this is the one that depending where that type of wine is typically made, that's where their grapes come from.  So like Malbecs are typically from Argentina, so they grow their grapes there.  Prosecco comes from Italy, so that's where their grapes are from.  Etc.

Don't quote me on that, though...might be a different company that does that...

  • I love ice wines too!  Compared to ice wine it would be dry, but I think it has a bit of dry and a bit of sweet flavor.  There is definitely no oaky flavor to it, but I would say it is semi-dry.  It's a great wine to venture into more dry varieties with.

  • I'm always game to try something with the word cupcake in its name :)
  • I agree the Sav. Blanc is good....however, I was really disappointed in their Reisling.  I bought it one for a party (b/c of the cute name and label) and didn't like it at all!

New Zealand is known for their Sauvignon Blanc, so perhaps that is why.

I'm never one to turn down trying a new wine. Thanks for the suggestion!

I also didn't know New Zealand was known for SB. I'll have to keep that in mind next time I'm roaming the wine section.

  • We've tried a few of their wines, but the sauvignon blanc and the prosecco are the best.  I haven't tried their malbec, though.

They're a good option for when we want something drinkable, but not expensive.

Ooo, I should try that!  I'm not a fan of SBs in general.

  • If anyone likes Riesling, try to get your hands on something from the Niagara region in Ontario.

Haha!  I didn't even catch how stupid that sounded, especially considering you could literally quote me here.  And the worst part is that I say that all the time.  Ugh.

lol no worries!! I was just having a little fun :)

I say that all the time, too. It's like, okay I'm pretty sure this is correct, but don't blame me if it's not.
