I don't even know where to start, my mind is swimming...
Ben's brother, Andrew, passed away this evening. We don't know a whole lot, and it all happened so quick that from 5pm until now, everything is a blur. DH got a call this afternoon from his parents, they were on the road down to DC because Andrew had called 911 this morning, he had a severe headache and was having trouble breathing, and went to the hospital and was in ICU. When DH's parents got to the hospital they were told that he went into cardiac arrest in the ambulance and they did CPR on him for 43 minutes before they could bring him back. At this point his organs were failing, he had internal bleeding and his body temp was down in the 80's.
When Ben got home he called his parents and got this whole update and we started throwing stuff in a bag and were getting ready to leave to go to DC as well. We just got on the road and Ben's Dad called and said he had passed. They are saying it was from "septic shock" due to his organs failing, but they also think it could be from meningitis. His body is being sent to the medical examiner tomorrow to find out more. He was only 32.
Ben is not taking it well that his little brother is gone. Please pray for him and keep his family in your thoughts for the next few days.
Thanks ladies!!!!!

My goodness, Laura. That is very cruel and awful. I'm so sorry for your family. I hope you can get some answers from the medical examiner.
This touches close to home for me with everything that's going on with my friend. You just never know what tomorrow will bring.
I'm sorry.
I am sorry for you, your DH and the family loss. I am sending lots of prayers and thoughts. I hope they are able to come up with answers. I can't imagine such a tragedy.
Oh my gosh, Laura!! I'm so sorry to hear this! What a sad and tragic situation.
I'll be keeping you, Ben, and his family in my thoughts and prayers.
