1 yr old lunch

What does your 1 year old eat for lunch?  TIA

Re: 1 yr old lunch

  • I'm not all sure what she has on a day to day basis, but on the weekends, I'll do Mac & Cheese, Grilled Cheese, Chicken Strips, fruit, veggies, just basic stuff.
  • noodles (either with butter or sauce or mac &cheese), chicken nuggets/patties, hot dog, grilled cheese sandwich, lunchmeat (cut into little bites), scrambled eggs, PB & J..those are my go-to things if I am only cooking for the kids.. for sides, she usually has string cheese, fruit, veggies, etc

At daycare and for dinner, she eats whatever everyone else is eating (she has been doing this since before she turned 1 even though she only has 6 teeth)

  • At daycare, he has things like Beans w/hotdogs, chicken and cheese quesadillas, chicken nuggets, ham, hamburger and fish sticks.  All of his meals at daycare have a veggie and fruit, and they have a few days where they offer healthier options.  At home, I don't make anything fried or breaded usually.  We do fish with brown rice, tacos with refried beans, mac and cheese, grilled cheese, baked chicken, ground turkey burgers, and things like that.  I always have a veggie, that I steam or roast and he has a banana, mango or fruit cocktail for dessert.  We don't do a ton of sweets (he may have an arrowroot cookie or some yogurt melts for dessert), and I try to buy some things organic (though some are so expensive!)

  • It varies. She usually eats whatever I'm eating. Today it was tangy chicken salad, whole wheat pita bread, steamed broccoli, and sun dried tomato basil hummus. I get a lot of ideas from weelicious.com. I try to prepare stuff for the week on Sunday.

Neena also loves mac 'n cheese, grilled cheese, steamed veggies, cottage cheese, avocadoes, green smoothies, fish, veggie, and chicken nuggets, fruit, cheese

  • If I eat Leftovers that is what Cole usually gets but I also prepare his meals in advance.  I love weelicious and my cookbook "Organically Raised" and I make Cole things like veggie burgers in large batches and freeze them in small portions.  If I don't have anything prepared I make steamed veggies and whole wheat tortilla with hummus as my go to meal.  He always gets fruit and veggies with every meal (except no vegs at b-fast!).  I also blend together yogurt, milk and fruit and make mini popsicles that he loves.  It gets exhausting sometimes to try to figure it out and I definitely pay the price if I don't plan in advance!
