What's you favorite winery?

H and I are planning to spend the day at some wineries for our anniversary. We did it last year and went to Naked Mountain and Linden and then spent some time in Middleburg. What are you favorites?

Re: What's you favorite winery?

  • I think my favorite local winery is probably Veritas. I really liked a couple of their wines.

  • Probably Sugarloaf, but I'm not sure I could plan a day/weekend around it, unless you like hiking and then you could hike around the mountain.

If you like whites and light fruity stuff, Boordy has a lot to choose from. Again, not sure you could do a whole trip around it, but it is close to B'more.

    The DC Nest. Winers welcome.

  • We really like Hiddencroft. It is a friend of a friend's winery- it is on the smaller side but the property is beautiful and the wine is great. I am usually not a fan of Virginia reds but they have a great one!

  • Hubby and I really love LaGrange, near Haymarket VA.  It's very quiet but they never disappoint on the fun factor.  Their tasting room is very neat, wines taste fantastic, and the house it is in has a lot of nooks and cranies to get lost in conversation in.  Their lawn is also amazing for a picnic and relaxing taking in the scenery and mountain views.

  • I really like Bluemont.  They have a red I really like, which is rare for VA. They also have some fruit wines that are nice.
