Hydrangeas- HELP!
Hi, I am new to Gardening.
I bought 4 Endless Summer Hydrangeas for my front yard. I planted them last weekend, and now the leaves are starting to turn brown! Does anyone know what this could mean or have any help of what I should do?
I have been watering them everday.

I dont think I have been over watering them, the tag that came on the plant said to keep well watered for the first 3 weeks. But maybe I should cut back on the watering.
I am not sure if they are getting too much sun? maybe I should move them to somewhere with more shade?
Bigleaf hydrangeas (the most common kind) like partial shade and daily (or almost daily) water. DO NOT water the foliage, water the ground.
How big are they? Are they in full bloom? Did you buy them in an outdoor nursery yard, or indoors from a florist or grocery store?

I believe they are a bigleaf hydrangea. I think my problem might be that they are in too much sun. I also have been watering the foliage...yikes.. but now that I know I will just water the roots.
They arn't very big, only about a foot tall. I bought them at Lowes, they were outside in the lawn/garden center. They dont have any blooms yet, it was just a green shrub when I purchased them. They are the Endless Summer brand.
I was so excited when I bought them, Hydrangeas have always been a favorite of mine. I was so upset when I saw them starting to go brown.
I love hydrangeas too. They are so classic and gorgeous. A few years ago, I bought two of them and put them in what I thought was a shady part of my yard, but they were in clay and I didn't give them enough organic soil/ pebble mixture to establish their roots. They burned up by the end of the summer (I'm in zone 7).
Also, if you transplant them when they're in bloom, it's harder on them, especially if your soil pH balance is much different than the pH of the soil they were potted in. I realize this is water under the bridge for these plants, but I've heard that the best time to plant them is in the fall, when it allows them to get established before producing blooms.
I say all this, but I've been too chicken to try hydrangeas again, even though we're now in another house. I have even less shade here, and I don't want to kill them again!
