Has this happened to anyone else?
I have had the strangest thing happen to me lately - my feet have shrunk! I swear. The shoes that I wear nearly every day are now seemingly a half size too big. I doubt that I stretched them out, but I have no explanation as to how this could have happened.
Has anyone else experienced this? I know it's strange so feel free to laugh
Re: Has this happened to anyone else?
I actually have noticed that. I have a pair of heels that I used to wear all the time. I tried them on over the weekend and they seem like they're half a size too big. They were definitely falling off my feet when I tried to walk around in them.
Just another reason for me to go buy more shoes!
Books read in 2012: 21/50
Sometimes weird things like that happen... I haven't kept close track, but I do think my feet may be smaller than they used to be. I've also noticed that as I get older I'm looking thinner (as in my face, hands, and feet, seem narrower) but without losing weight.
I've also noticed in the past year (wearing a ring everyday for the first time) that my fingers vary a lot in size day to day. Water retention?
I don't weigh myself that often and have never worried about it since my clothing size has been the same for years. When I go to the doctor they weigh me and I'm always exactly the same. I went recently and was 8 lbs more (I'm a small-boned 5'4" and 8 lbs is a lot for my frame)! I mentioned to the doctor that I was surprised, especially since my jeans still fit. She said it was because I always came in the morning before and this visit was right after lunch. Some of it's water retention (I hope), but that means I regularly accommodate at least 4 lbs of food! How weird is that?
For a small frame like you described Tem, 8lbs would be noticeable I would think, but maybe it was a combination of things? That would be impressive though if 4 lbs were just food! On some days I think I am certainly capable of that
I am definitely noticing a change/shift in my body as I get older. Maybe the shoe size is just one of those things like you said.
This should be interesting in a few years when we TTC and my feet get bigger/wider. Perhaps I should hang on to these shoes that are now too big!
I have a friend my same size and build. When she was pregnant, she gained 50 lbs, almost entirely on the stomach, and her feet went up 2 full sizes. She kind of looked like she had a yoga ball in her shirt. After having the baby, everything went back to how it had been in a couple of months!
TMI alert:
I eat a lot, so I believe I can eat 4 lbs of food in a day. By 2:00 pm is surprising, because I have 2 meals left to eat. My pants are always noticeably tighter after a meal, but 8 lbs is amazing! I have IBS, so under stress I often don't go to the bathroom, and in a pretty short time (maybe the 3rd day) I look pregnant. Obviously, the day of our wedding I couldn't go and I was so bummed because my stomach was much less flat than it could have been
Have you lost weight? I agree that with age we sort of "shift" and that can certainly affect things! Also, women tend to fluctuate based on where they are in their cycle, water retention-wise, AND we change throughout the day based on hormones and "wear and tear" (we're shorter in the evenings than the mornings, etc). I am small too but I am sure I fluctuate a good 8lbs from time to time.
Still, changing shoe sizes just feels weird, I bet! But now that I think of it... I used to be a solid 7.5 and now I am really a 7.
Haha - that is another one of my "fears" that if/when I get pregnant I will gain all sorts of crazy weight and won't be able to lose any. But that's another topic for another day!
I haven't lost any weight, in fact since the wedding I have gained 2-3 lbs which I am not happy about, but I suppose it could be worse.
I am going to chalk it up to the hormone changes and just wear and tear like Zara said.
Thanks ladies for letting me know I am not alone
